Position Overview
As a Key Lead / Budtender at Kindling Cannabis, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless customer experience, ensuring compliance, and supporting store operations. Key Leads are senior team members who provide leadership on the floor, assist in training new staff, and take initiative to maintain store standards. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role ideal for cannabis enthusiasts who thrive in fast-paced environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Experience
- Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming in-store atmosphere
- Provide personalized product recommendations based on customer needs and preferences
- Educate customers on cannabis strains, formats, and responsible consumption
- Uphold the highest level of service and professionalism during all customer interactions
Store Operations
- Support opening and closing duties including cash handling and float counts
- Assist with inventory management, receiving product shipments, and restocking shelves
- Maintain a clean, organized, hygienic, and compliant retail environment
- Perform regular cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the premises
- Help maintain cleanliness of common areas, staff areas, and washrooms
- Ensure accurate product tagging, display, and promotional signage
Leadership & Support
- Act as the lead on shift in the absence of the Store Manager
- Support in training new hires and reinforcing SOPs and Kindling’s brand standards
- Identify and escalate operational or customer service issues when needed
- Motivate the team to meet sales goals and enhance the overall customer experience
Qualifications
- Prior retail experience (cannabis or regulated industry preferred)
- CannSell certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for cannabis and ongoing product knowledge development
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Comfortable working in a compliance-driven environment
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
Pay: $18.00 per hour
