Overview
VK Communications is a growing Ontario-based company specializing in Starlink installations, security camera systems, alarm systems, access control, structured cabling, networking, and other low-voltage solutions for residential and commercial clients.
We are looking for Entry-Level Low Voltage Technicians / Assistant Technicians who are eager to learn and build a long-term career in the telecommunications and security industry. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to develop hands-on technical skills while working alongside experienced installers.
No extensive experience is required—we value reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with residential and commercial installations.
- Help install security cameras, alarm systems, access control systems, Starlink equipment, and structured cabling.
- Pull, label, and secure low-voltage cables.
- Assist with rough-ins, cable routing, drilling, mounting, and equipment installation.
- Organize tools, materials, and equipment before and after each job.
- Maintain clean and professional job sites.
- Follow company installation standards and safety procedures.
- Learn basic networking concepts, including routers, switches, and Wi-Fi equipment.
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Interest in telecommunications, networking, security systems, or low-voltage installations.
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Willingness to work outdoors and at heights when required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid G Driver's Licence.
- Reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites.
- Working at Heights Certification.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Previous experience in construction, electrical, low-voltage, or general labour is considered an asset but is not required.

Job Type: Part-Time / Contract (Subcontractor)
Contract Length: 6 Months (Opportunity for ongoing work based on performance)
