Rushton Gas & Oil Equipment Ltd. is an Alberta-based manufacturer specializing in ASME Section VIII Div. 1 pressure vessels, piping systems, and skid-mounted oil & gas processing equipment for the Western Canadian market.
We are seeking a technically strong Fabrication Project Coordinator with direct experience in pressure vessel and piping fabrication.
This role requires hands-on familiarity with fabrication shops, welding processes, code compliance, and industrial manufacturing. It is not an administrative-only project coordination position.
Position Overview
The Fabrication Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating projects from RFQ through engineering, procurement, fabrication, inspection, and final turnover. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with engineering, drafting, production, QC, and customers in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate ASME pressure vessel and piping projects from RFQ through shipment
- Review and interpret customer specifications and contractual requirements
- Ensure compliance with ASME, CSA, and client code requirements
- Interpret fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical design packages
- Track material procurement, shop fabrication progress, inspections, and documentation
- Liaise with engineering, welding, QC, and production teams
- Support estimating and bid preparation as required
- Monitor schedule, scope, and cost impacts
- Manage final turnover documentation and project close-out
- Support CRN documentation and regulatory compliance where applicable
Mandatory Qualifications
✔ Minimum 5 years experience in pressure vessel and/or piping fabrication
✔ Demonstrated knowledge of:
- ASME Section VIII Div. 1
- ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3
- CSA Z662
- CSA B149.3
✔ Experience working within a fabrication shop or manufacturing environment
✔ Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, NDE, and QC procedures
✔ Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
✔ Experience coordinating multiple concurrent manufacturing projects
Preferred Experience
- CRN exposure (ABSA, TSASK, BC Technical Safety, etc.)
- Skid-mounted oil & gas processing equipment
- Estimating background
- PSV / process equipment familiarity
- AutoCAD exposure
