Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Clerk to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining an organized and inviting store environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be capable of multitasking, and have a passion for delivering a positive shopping experience. Experience with retail sales or merchandising are highly valued to better serve our diverse customer base.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases in a courteous manner
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts
- Maintain accurate product displays, stock levels, and merchandising standards
- Provide knowledgeable assistance regarding product selection, including alcohol regulations and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with all legal age verification procedures during sales
- Manage phone inquiries professionally, providing information about products and store policies
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Handle cash register operations accurately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Restocking as needed
- Support team members with additional duties to ensure smooth store operations
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred
- Strong communication skills in English
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills for transactions
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of alcohol sales regulations and age verification procedures preferred
- Demonstrated customer service orientation with friendly phone etiquette and professional demeanor
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required; must be 19 years or older
- Multilingual skills are considered an asset to serve our diverse clientele
- Serving it right will be required
