Job Overview: The Sheet Metal Worker will play a crucial role in installing and fabricating sheet metal components for duct work, air conditioning (AC) systems, and furnaces within new construction environments. Key Responsibilities:
- Duct Work Installation: Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork for efficient ventilation systems.
- AC and Furnace Installation: Assist in the installation and connection of air conditioning units and furnaces, ensuring precise alignment and optimal functionality.
- Fabrication: Create custom sheet metal components tailored to specific project requirements.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure proper installation and adherence to project specifications.
- Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct inspections and tests of completed installations to ensure quality and performance, making necessary adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and practices to maintain a secure working environment.
- Collaboration: Coordinate closely with other construction professionals, including general contractors, electricians, and HVAC technicians, to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, with a strong background in new construction projects and HVAC systems.
- Skills: Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication and installation, with comprehensive knowledge of ductwork, AC systems, and furnaces.
- Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments used in sheet metal work.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to effectively read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
