We are looking for a Recruiter to join a Contract position supporting campus hiring initiatives in Kitchener, Ontario. In this role, you will help attract and assess university and college co-op students for AI-focused projects, ensuring a thoughtful and efficient candidate experience. This opportunity is well suited to someone with strong communication skills, hands-on recruiting experience, and the ability to evaluate technical software skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage recruitment activities for university and college co-op hiring tied to AI-related project needs.
- Review applications submitted through post-secondary institution portals and assess candidates against role criteria.
- Conduct initial screening interviews using a structured approach to evaluate qualifications, interest, and fit.
- Coordinate with hiring stakeholders to clarify candidate requirements and support timely hiring decisions.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with applicants throughout the early stages of the recruitment process.
- Prepare concise candidate summaries and share screening insights to support next-step interview decisions.
- At least 1 year of recruiting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to screen resumes and identify candidates aligned with role requirements.
- Experience conducting structured introductory interviews in a detail-oriented setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage candidates effectively.
- Familiarity with college or university recruiting processes and applicant management through institutional portals.
- Technical recruiting exposure or knowledge of software development talent is considered an asset.
