We are seeking a Chief Mine Engineer to join our team at Levack Mine!
The Chief Mine Engineer is responsible for sustainable and reliable mine engineering, planning and design to support safe and efficient underground operations at Magna Mining’s Levack Mine.

Develop and optimize underground mine designs.

Oversee the preparation of short, medium, and long-term mine plans.

Ensure integration of geotechnical, ventilation, and hydrogeological considerations into mine design.

Collaborate with geology and operations to ensure mine plans align with resource models and production targets.

Manage mine development projects from concept to execution.

Oversee scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for mine development and related infrastructure.

Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to ensure safe development.

Monitor and improve operational efficiency and development performance against KPIs.

Interface with operations, maintenance, and other departments to coordinate development and production.

Provide technical support for daily mining activities and troubleshoot operational challenges.

Ensure all engineering designs and plans comply with regulatory and environmental standards.

Prepare and present regular reports on mine plans, cost tracking, and project milestones.

Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.

Supervise and mentor a team of mine technical services support staff.
Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field.

Professional Engineering designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain P.Eng in Ontario is required.
Work Experience: Nature & Length

8 or more years of experience in underground mine engineering.

3 or more years in a leadership role.
Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills

Expertise in mine planning software.

Effective leadership and communication skills.

Sound knowledge of underground mining methods (especially ramp access and lateral development).

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and safety practices in underground mining.
