Volunteer Opportunity: Hitting Coach
A Volunteer Youth Baseball Hitting Coach is needed for our Non-Profit | Faith-Based Organization to help support our FREE PROGRAM FOR KIDS AGED 7–14 this summer!
Program Duration: July 2, 2026 – August 27, 2026
Program Structure: 6-7 weeks of baseball skill development clinics and training, followed by 2 weeks of organized games and gameplay implementation based on skills learned throughout the program
Commitment: 1 evening per week (Thursday Evenings)
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM

About the Canadian Christian Recreational Association (CCRA)
The Canadian Christian Recreational Association (CCRA) is a faith-based organization dedicated to building community through sports, recreation, mentorship, leadership development, and spiritual growth.

Volunteer Opportunity Overview
CCRA is currently seeking volunteer baseball coaches, clinic leaders, former players, and skilled baseball volunteers to support a FREE youth baseball skills clinic for children ages 7–14.
This exciting clinic will take place Thursday evenings and will focus on:
- Hitting and batting development
- Teaching mechanics and control
- Throwing and catching fundamentals
- Fielding and defensive skills
- Base running and game awareness
- Confidence building
- Leadership and mentorship
- Faith-centered youth development
We are looking for positive, energetic, patient, and encouraging individuals who have baseball experience and a passion for helping children grow both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Hitting & Batting Instruction
Volunteers will help teach proper batting fundamentals including stance, grip, swing mechanics, balance, timing, contact, follow-through, and hitting confidence. Coaches may assist with batting stations, tee work, soft toss drills, live batting practice, and situational hitting exercises.
Game Situations
Volunteers will help teach proper base running techniques, tagging up, force plays, rundowns, stealing fundamentals, relays, cut-offs, and other baseball game situations to help participants understand gameplay concepts.
Throwing & Catching Fundamentals
Volunteers will help teach proper throwing mechanics, catching techniques, glove work, footwork, hand-eye coordination, and partner drills designed to improve overall baseball fundamentals.
Organizing Drills & Small Scrimmages
Volunteers may assist with organizing skill stations, team drills, and small scrimmages that allow players to apply the skills learned throughout the clinic. Coaches should help ensure activities remain safe, organized, inclusive, and fun.
Faith-Based Mentorship & Leadership
Volunteers are expected to help create a positive, respectful, faith-centered environment where participants feel encouraged and supported. Leaders should model sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity, patience, and Christian values throughout the program.
Volunteers should be comfortable participating in brief prayer before and after clinic sessions and supporting the faith-based mission of CCRA.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience with baseball (playing, coaching, training, or officiating)
- Knowledge of hitting and/or pitching fundamentals
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Passion for working with children and youth
- Dependable and encouraging personality
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Interest in supporting a faith-based, community-focused initiative
- Ability to commit to Thursday evening participation throughout the clinic season
