Senior Accountant (Property Accounting)
Landmark is currently partnered with a great organization located in the heart of Downtown to find a new Senior Accountant for their team. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the co-ordination of the property accounting process comprising of several branch/offsite locations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of costs, billings, monthly financial statements and working paper preparation, other ad-hoc reports as required and the oversight of accounts payable and receivable function in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring proper documentation exists.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to maintain accuracy and completeness in conformity to company’s policies and procedures
- Prepare month-end working papers for review including all supporting documentation in accordance with accounting timelines
- Ensure proper communication is maintained between accounting department and property level teams as required, on regular basis.
- Post monthly charges, update charges as required, post rent deposit
- Collaborate with Property Managers for monthly accrual list, verify list for accuracy and communicate any discrepancies
- Reconcile operating expenses with revenues
- Post monthly charges, update charges as required, post rent deposit
- Parking allocation – monthly posting as budgeted, reconcile at year end
- Posting monthly revenue & expense statements as received from parking operator
- Monthly reporting as required
- Maintain records of lease agreements, amendment agreements, etc
- Create and maintain tenant sub-ledger files in Yardi
- Post and keep up to date monthly rent roll
- Prepares daily bank deposit and PWGSC report.
- Maintain income/sales reports and prepare monthly journal entry
- Prepare monthly reports for the Managerial Package
- Prepare Quarterly Forecast reports
- Prepare YE recoveries billing and update once audited statements are received
Other
- Organize and maintain a proper filing system of all documents
- Update and maintain logs, ledgers, calculation spreadsheets detailing accounting transactions
- Oversee Junior Accountant and provide support if required
- Assist Accounting Manager and Director of Finance as required.
- Assist with the preparation of other reports provided to management
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.
