Job Overview
The Students’ Association of Medicine Hat College is seeking a student‑focused, organized individual to provide temporary part‑time coverage during a medical leave August 17 - December 18th with potential for extension. The hours of this role are typcially Monday - Thursday 9:00 am to 1:00 p.m. This role supports SAMHC operations at the Brooks Campus and ensures students receive high‑quality service and engagement opportunities.
Duties
- Provide reception and front‑line support for the Students’ Association
- Assist students with inquiries related, health and dental plan benefits / opt‑outs, and general SAMHC services
- Forward documentation to the Medicine Hat Students’ Association Office for processing
- Maintain a cash float and sell SA merchandise at the Brooks Campus
- Make purchases and coordinate campus events while maintaining approved budgets
- Work with the Health and Wellness Coordinator to plan and promote Awareness Week activities
- Encourage student participation in SAMHC programs and events
- Attend Executive and/or SAC meetings when requested and prepare written reports
- Maintain positive working relationships with college departments
- Understand and apply relevant Medicine Hat College policies affecting SAMHC members
Skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel),
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Customer service or reception experience is an asset
- Basic cash‑handling and budgeting skills
- Familiarity with post‑secondary environments or student governance is an advantage but not required
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16.0 per week
