The Huron Community Association offers a variety of different activities for Adults and youth of all ages.
The HCA is looking for staff who are organized, motivated to participate, and skilled at being asset builders for children and youth. You may be asked to also supervise additional volunteers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plan and organize running-based programming, including warm-ups, running drills, endurance activities, relay races, and active games for ages 6–8 yrs, 16+ and 18+
- Coordinate child-centered programming and ensure equipment and supplies are set up and ready for each program
- Provide coordination, support, and leadership to other program staff and volunteers
- Act as a positive role model for program staff, volunteers, and participants
- Implement positive and effective behaviour management strategies
- Develop and deliver quality programming to participants each week in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment
Qualifications:
- Experience leading running programs, or active games for children
- Must possess strong leadership, administration, supervision, communication, social development, and positive behaviour management skills
- Current Standard First Aid Certificate required, or willingness to obtain
- Police check required upon offer of employment
- Strong programming skills with experience leading active recreation or fitness-based programs for children preferred
- Own transportation to the program location is required
Recommended age: 18 years of age or older

Pay: From $21.50 per hour
Experience:
- coaching/program leadership: 2 years (preferred)
- Running: 3 years (preferred)
