Technical Product Manager – Shading Systems

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Product Manager to lead the development, enhancement, and technical support of our growing product portfolio. This role will serve as the technical authority for roller shading systems, working closely with manufacturing, procurement, project management, sales, and installation teams to bring innovative solutions to market.
The Technical Product Manager will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of interior and exterior roller shading systems. This role combines product development, mechanical design, manufacturing support, technical documentation, supplier collaboration, and smart building integration.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve roller shading systems, including hardware, brackets, tubes, drive systems, tension systems, and related components.
- Create and maintain detailed CAD models, production drawings, assemblies, and technical documentation.
- Design products for manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, and cost optimization.
- Evaluate and specify materials, fabrics, and components based on performance, durability, aesthetics, and sustainability objectives.
- Lead prototype development, testing, validation, and product improvement initiatives.
- Develop product standards, specifications, testing procedures, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and procurement teams to identify and qualify materials, components, and suppliers.
- Support the integration of motorized shading systems with building automation and smart building technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to sales teams, project managers, installers, and customers.
- Prepare and maintain product documentation, including specifications, submittals, shop drawings, installation guides, cut sheets, and bills of materials.
- Investigate field issues and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure products comply with applicable building, fire, safety, and industry standards.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities to support product innovation.
Qualifications
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design, Product Development, Industrial Design, Building Science, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience developing architectural products, building systems, shading systems, or related manufactured products.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, and quality standards.
- Experience developing technical drawings, specifications, BOMs, installation instructions, and product documentation.
- Knowledge of motorized systems, controls, and automation technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with architectural shading systems, façade products, building envelope systems, or related industries.
- Experience with BIM and Revit.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and smart building technologies.
- Experience with product testing, validation, and continuous improvement processes.
- Knowledge of sustainable building design, daylighting, and energy-efficient building solutions.
- Experience supporting field installations, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Pay: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
