Schedule: Full-time Position: Monday–Friday afternoons & evenings (7 hrs/day) | Saturday approx. 5–6 hrs | Evening and weekend availability required
About the Role We're looking for a warm, dependable, and self-motivated Family Assistant to join our household and provide hands-on support with our school-aged children and day-to-day home management. A valid BC Driver's License is required for this role, as a family vehicle is available for use during working hours. Parents are present in the home. This role is centered around after-school routines, children's transportation, and keeping shared spaces tidy and running smoothly.
What You'll Do
With the Kids
- Handle after-school pick-ups and morning drop-offs, as well as transportation to sports, activities, and get-togethers
- Help prepare and clean up snacks and meals
- Assist children with their school bags, homework prep, and daily routines
- Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities — games, crafts, reading, outdoor adventures
- Tune in to each child's individual personality and needs with care and attention
Around the Home
- Keep kids' spaces tidy — playrooms, bedrooms, and closets
- Pitch in with laundry, dishwasher loading/unloading, and general tidying
- Handle grocery runs and miscellaneous household errands
- Help restock and organize household supplies
General
- Work collaboratively with parents, following established routines and household preferences
- Maintain open, respectful communication with the family
- Foster a safe, upbeat, and nurturing atmosphere at all times
What We're Looking For
- Valid BC Driver's License (required)
- Prior experience with children (childcare, babysitting, camp, tutoring, etc.)
- Comfortable in a home environment where parents are present
- Reliable, punctual, and takes initiative
- CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to become certified
