We have openings for experienced, reliable labourers for a waterproofing, excavation and construction/demolition company located in Welland. Job sites vary throughout the Niagara area. Applicants must have previous construction experience, must have a valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision, able to work long hours when needed in all work and weather conditions, have steel toed boots, and willing to follow directions closely, understand and communicate effectively in English and take pride in their work. Experience in working around and/or operating excavating equipment and experience in waterline and sewer line connections and installations are definite assets.
Responsibilities:
- Perform setup/take down and cleanup tasks at job site
- Dig pits, trenches and foundations in preparation for project
- Clean, prep, and assist in applying waterproof membranes to foundations
- Able to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions
- Provide labour support as needed for specialty crew
- Lift heavy loads up to 80 lbs and navigate job site
- Excavating trenches either by hand or assisting with mini excavator excavation
- Installing piping systems, move stone, pour concrete
- Backfilling the trench with soil/gravel
- Restoring the property to its original condition
- Work as a team to complete jobs.
- Attention to detail is absolutely necessary.
- Valid drivers license required.
