Job Summary
Noble Berry Dessert & Kitchen Studio is a new boutique dessert and kitchen studio in Cadboro Bay Village. We focus on handmade desserts, beautiful pastries, fresh salads, sandwiches, savoury danishes, cookies, and high-quality café-style food.
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook / Bakery Assistant to join our small team. The ideal candidate has previous kitchen or bakery experience, works cleanly and efficiently, and is comfortable helping with daily food preparation, baking support, packaging, labeling, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys both savoury and bakery production and can work in a small, fast-paced environment with consistency and care.
Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients for sandwiches, salads, savoury danishes, cookies, and other daily menu items.
Assist with basic bakery and pastry production.
Assemble and package finished products for display and take-away.
Follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Label and store food correctly according to food safety procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and prep areas.
Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and support daily cleaning tasks.
Follow all food handling and food safety procedures.
Help maintain a calm, positive, and professional work environment during busy periods.
Support the chef/owner with daily production as needed.
Requirements
Previous kitchen, bakery, café, or food production experience is required.
Ability to work efficiently and independently after direction is given.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Comfortable with food prep, portioning, packaging, and labeling.
Basic baking or pastry experience is an asset.
FOODSAFE Level 1 is preferred.
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
Must be comfortable working in a small team environment.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift standard kitchen supplies as needed.
Schedule
Daytime shifts.
Weekend availability may be required.
Part-time or full-time hours may be available depending on experience and availability.
Pay
$21–23 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips.
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
