The Driver position is connected to OMAC's After-School Pickup Program. OMAC provides a pickup service for parents' convenience. This pickup service operates throughout the school year.
Drivers are the key to this program. Picking up from local elementary schools and safely bringing students back to OMAC is the core of this role. Additionally, Drivers will build lasting connections with the students on their buses.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsibilities of the Driver include:
- promptly arriving at each school en route
- ensuring that each student is safely and securely seated in the OMAC bus (9-seater van)
- ensuring that students are engaging in safe behaviour on-route to OMAC's facility
Qualifications and Skills
Requirements for eligibility of employment with OMAC:
- Applicants must be available Monday-Friday between the hours of 2:30-4:00pm.
- Applicants must possess a full and active G license in Ontario with a clean driving record.
- Applicants must provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check prior to being considered for hiring.
- Applicants must provide an MTO Driver's Abstract to show proof of a clean driving record.
- Experience working with children is considered an asset.
