Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled City Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various types of freight.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy trucks and vehicles to transport freight to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation.
- Perform minor automotive repairs as needed to ensure the truck is in optimal working condition.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- 2 years or more Experience in heavy equipment operation is required.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and logistics operations.
- Familiarity with basic automotive repair is a plus.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies.
