Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Wrap and PPF (Paint Protection Film) Specialist to join our automotive customization team. This role involves applying high-quality wraps and protective films to vehicles, ensuring precision and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience working with automotive finishes, hand and power tools, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive aesthetics and protection to contribute to our reputation for excellence.
Duties
- Apply full and partial vinyl wraps to a wide range of vehicles — from daily drivers to exotic builds — with a zero-defect standard on every panel.
- Install PPF (paint protection film) precisely, including pre-cut kits and custom bulk installs, ensuring seamless edges and proper stretch around complex curves.
- Carry out full surface prep: decontamination wash, clay-bar treatment, IPA wipe-down, and precision masking prior to any film application.
- Use knifeless tape, squeegees, heat guns, and precision cutting tools to shape and finish wraps and PPF installations accurately.
- Handle post-install inspection, including edge sealing, heat activation, and final quality-check before client delivery.
- Assist with detailing, minor paint correction, and surface conditioning as needed to meet GRAFYTE's delivery standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised bay and follow all material-handling and safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with the install team to hit project timelines while upholding quality expectations across commercial fleet and individual builds.
Experience
- Wrap & PPF Experience : Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with vinyl wrap and/or paint protection film installation. Proven ability to execute clean, panel-accurate installs on a range of vehicle shapes — sedans, SUVs, trucks, and commercial vans.
- Tool & Material Fluency : Confident using heat guns, infrared lamps, squeegees, knifeless tape, and precision cutting tools. Understanding of wrap-grade vinyl behaviour — stretch limits, memory, adhesion, and post-heat performance. Familiarity with PPF handling, slip solution, and tack management is highly valued.
- Automotive Aptitude : Mechanical familiarity with vehicle surfaces — trim removal, panel gap awareness, and understanding of factory paint grades — supports higher-quality installs and fewer callbacks. Experience in auto detailing, bodywork, or mechanical repair is a genuine asset in this role.
