Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Truck Driver to drive from Calgary to US (California). The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and excellent vehicle handling skills. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 trucks for the transportation of freight from Calgary to California.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during operations to prevent accidents or violations.
- Assist with warehouse duties related to freight management as required.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or freight transportation preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy vehicle operation and freight handling.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Physical capability to load/unload freight, lift heavy objects, and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
- Prior experience with freight logistics or industrial trucking is advantageous.
