Employee Success Manager
The Employee Success Manager (ESM) is a strategic people leader responsible for maximizing team performance, driving talent retention, and aligning professional development with business objectives. This role provides direct people and career leadership to technical staff, partnering closely with Technical Leads who own the technical direction and architecture. The ESM plays a critical role in driving accountability and shaping a high-performing, people-first culture within REDspace.

What You’ll Do
People Leadership & Talent Development

Strategic 1:1 Framework: Execute a structured 1:1 meeting cadence with assigned technical staff to align individual career velocity with REDspace’s project pipeline and technical delivery goals.

Talent Retention & Mobility: Proactively identify high-potential talent and design strategic succession, growth, and internal mobility paths to retain critical skills.

Workforce Integration: Direct and manage the onboarding lifecycle of new hires, ensuring rapid time-to-productivity and alignment with company culture.

Talent Acquisition Support: Partner with HR to drive the recruitment process when required, conducting strategic pre-screens and participating in panel interviews.
Performance Management & Resource Optimization

Performance Evaluation & Accountability: Lead the end-to-end performance review process; synthesize feedback from Technical Leads, Project Managers, and clients to deliver objective, high-impact annual evaluations.

Performance Intervention: Independently manage and execute Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs), addressing underperformance decisively and in alignment with organizational standards.

Resource Optimization: Partner with the Resourcing and Director teams to optimize talent allocation, ensuring direct reports are strategically placed on projects to maximize both client impact and employee growth.

Systems & Analytics Optimization: Serve as the functional champion for internal performance tools (e.g., Small Improvements), leveraging data, OKRs, and 360 reporting to deliver actionable people insights to executive leadership.
Employee Relations & Operational Oversight

Conflict Resolution & Team Dynamics: Act as the primary escalation point for employee relations, workload imbalances, and morale issues—resolving conflicts before they impact project delivery.

Operational Risk Management: Partner with HR to manage organizational risk while driving a high-performance, delivery-focused culture.

Capacity & Leave Management: Manage team capacity and operational resourcing (including PTO approvals and leave management), balancing employee well-being with active project delivery needs.
Requirements
What You'll Bring
Education (Preferred)

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Professional & Leadership Experience
-
Management Experience: Minimum of 5 years of direct people management or delivery leadership experience, with a proven track record of developing technical or project-based teams.

Performance Operations: Deep competence in executing performance metrics, corrective action planning, and conflict mediation within a fast-paced environment.

Industry Context: Background working in technology, digital agencies, or project-based studio environments with an understanding of how people management impacts delivery models.

Core Competencies: Exceptional skills in managing by influence, driving alignment across cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Tech, HR), active listening, and analytical decision-making.

Compensation:-
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000-$95,000 CAD. (Final placement within the range is at the discretion of the hiring manager, based on relevant experience).
