Summary of Responsibilities
The Junior Financial Analyst will assist the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis in maintaining the budget & forecast model for YMFC-CA, analyze the drivers of monthly financial results and update reporting. In addition, the successful candidate will have a key role on product pricing analysis and support new product deployment and maintenance. The role will also help treasury and asset-liability management analysis including funding, planning, and reporting. The role will help provide an end-to-end view of the business with lots of interaction with key stakeholders in Canada and YMFC. The ability to establish trust & rapport with cross functional personnel both locally and globally will be critical to succeed in this role..
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Apply strong technical and interpersonal skills, work closely with stakeholders and across functional areas within Canada and at YMFC to deliver budgets & updated rolling forecasts. Review variance to plan monthly and identify opportunities/risks to the respective business owners
- Support monthly closing with high level analysis of variances to budget and forecast andprepare the reports for use by the President and YMFC.
- Help with the analysis on Asset/Liability management on behalf of YMFC-CA, be engagingwith YMFC treasury and help prepare for required reporting and other banking requests.
- Assist the FP&A Manager and support the business and functional areas on analysis that requires ROI assessments; including discussions with Yamaha Sales on integrated captive strategy, new product deployments and existing product enhancements.
- Working closely with the product & pricing team to ensure the pricing model assumptionsare up to date and relevant so that the business achieves its targeted return profile.
- Assist the business with achieving budget/forecast timelines by loading the balance sheetand P&L into SAP and updating CAPEX plan.
- Actively maintain and improve the budget, profitability, pricing, reporting & analysis models,subject to use for ad hoc analysis.
Collaborate with accounting on internal and external audit engagements to help meet therequirements.

Experience Requirements
- Degree/Diploma: Business related degree (BBA, BCOM)
- Program of Study: Business and/or Accounting
- Years of Experience: 1-2 years of experience
- Type of Experience: Accounting, Finance and/or Public Accounting.
Skills and Abilities
- Qualified CPA designation (or in process).
- Previous experience in financial services or captive finance is an asset.
- Strong financial modelling skills and business acumen is required.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills; strategic thinker.
- Proficiency in report writing, finance and accounting principles, as well as proficiency with
office software applications such as SAP and Microsoft Office are required.
- A mindset for continuous improvement, and proactive to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to work independently and a natural curiosity are important personal attributes to be
successful in this role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), being a
strong collaborator.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and flexibility to adapt to change.
- Ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced and evolving environment.
Some overtime may be required.

Expected salary range: $60,000 - $65,000/per annum
Although base salary for this position falls within the above posted range, final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
