Made By Marcus is hiring an experienced Shop Manager at our 17th Ave location to lead our teams and protect the standards our guests expect. This role is hands on. You will work on the floor most days, coach in real time, and keep your shop running strong through both low and peak seasons.
Availability requirements
- Full time role
- Open availability required, seven days a week
- Must be able to open or close at least one weekend day, and have availability the other weekend day.
- Overtime may be required to support shop operations during peak periods, staffing gaps, or urgent issues
- Must be available to support shift coverage as needed, including occasional support on scheduled days off
- Must be able to stay later when required to complete operational needs, closing duties, or address unexpected issues
- Must be available during blackout dates, including Canada Day and Labour Day weekend. Calgary roles also require availability during the Calgary Stampede period

Key responsibilities
- Work on the floor with your team for the majority of your time
- Build schedules that match business needs and role requirements
- Recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members
- Drive consistent guest experience and Made By Marcus standards
- Own shop execution, including opening and closing standards
- Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and product quality
- Place and manage orders, inventory, and daily quality checks
- Ensure health and safety standards are followed at all times
- Uphold company policies consistently and fairly
- Communicate shop needs to support teams, including production, delivery, maintenance, and people support
- Listen to feedback, act on issues early, and improve shop performance
- Build culture through recognition, coaching, and clear expectations
- Support growth plans for team members and identify future leaders

- Strong communication and people leadership skills
- Reliable, organized, and consistent follow through
- Comfortable making decisions and holding standards
- Able to work nights and weekends as required
