King Hoe Excavating is a civil company based out of Langley, BC. We have many projects throughout the lower mainland. Due to our growing work load we are seeking experienced Grades Person.
Grades Person responsibilities will include:
- Conventional construction surveying
- Reading blueprints, understanding lines and grades and be capable to check for errors or omissions
- Set out survey monuments or control points at the job site, sufficient to determine the required lines or grades necessary for construction
- Completing as-builts
- Provide layout at various stages of construction
- Accurate and detailed note taking and mathematical reporting
- Recording locations of underground utilities
- Ability to build road structure from subgrade to hard surface
- Guiding equipment operators around underground utilities
- Leveling earth to fine grade specifications using a rake and shovel
- Loading and unloading construction materials
- Daily involvement in safety conscious activities such as toolbox meetings and pre-task inspections
- Daily inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment including calibration of levels
- Ability to operate GPS, Total Station and laser level survey equipment
- Other various construction related activities
Successful candidates will require:
- High school diploma, with strong mathematical aptitude
- Familiarity with MS Excel
- Fluent in English
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to communicate and work closely with Site Superintendent in planning, layout and recording project works
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$38.00 per hour
