Key Responsibilities
- Operate web offset press equipment for newspaper and commercial print production.
- Set and maintain ink and water balance, registration and compensation.
- Perform plate-up and plate removal.
- Tend reels and web up newsprint through the press.
- Set folders and manage margins and registration.
- Conduct ongoing quality control checks to ensure superior production standards are met.
- Clean and maintain press equipment and pressrooms areas, including roller settings, ink rails, blankets and wash-up systems.
- Perform general and routine maintenance as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience operating printing press, preferably in Web Offset Printing.
- Demonstrate the ability to work as a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to quality, safety and meeting production deadlines.
- Experience in producing both newspaper and commercial print products is considered an asset.
Hours of Work
Shifts vary: Days - 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Nights – 8:30 PM to 4:30 AM, with the occasional mid day shift when required. Rotating days off.
