We are seeking an experienced controller / finance manager to manage the company’s accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, regulatory filings across multiple provinces, financial analysis, and payroll administration. The successful candidate will also supervise the administrative team and support management with financial reporting and cash flow planning.
This role is ideal for a financial professional with experience in a small to medium-sized business who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and contributing to operational decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management
· Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
· Prepare and file GST returns and manage PST filings in multiple provinces
· Prepare and submit WCB filings in multiple provinces
· Manage payroll processing and related remittances
· Administer employee benefits and group RRSP matching program
· Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with year-end processes
· Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
· Conduct project profitability and cost analysis
· Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Leadership & Administration
· Supervise and support the administrative team
· Maintain and improve internal financial and administrative processes
· Assist management with budgeting, financial planning, and operational analysis
· Must be willing learn and eventually lead human resources
Required Qualifications
· CPA designation is preferred by not required
· Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
· Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or related discipline
· Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and tax compliance
· Strong analytical and organizational skills
· High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
· Proficiency with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks Desktop
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience working in a small to medium-sized business environment
· Experience with payroll, multi-provincial tax filings, and WCB reporting
· Experience with project profitability and job costing
· Experience with ERP implementation
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
