Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Skills
- Perform precise piercings in accordance with industry standards and customer requests
- Maintain a strong understanding of anatomy, placement, jewellery sizing, and healing processes
- Provide accurate aftercare guidance to support successful healing and long-term client satisfaction
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences from consultation to checkout
- Build trust and long-term relationships with clients through professionalism and education
- Conduct thorough consultations and confidently guide clients through procedures, jewellery options, and aftercare
- Handle customer concerns professionally and compassionately
Hygiene and Safety
- Adhere to all sterilization, hygiene, and cross-contamination prevention protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary piercing environment at all times
- Consistently use appropriate PPE, including gloves, while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards
Product Knowledge
- Stay informed on jewellery materials, sizing, styles, and industry best practices
- Educate clients on jewellery options and aftercare products suited to their piercing and lifestyle
- Remain current on trends, techniques, and advancements within the piercing industry
Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and workshops
- Attend regular piercer meetings focused on education, customer experience, promotions, and new techniques
- Maintain all required certifications and continue developing technical and customer service skills
Marketing and Content
- Contribute photo and video content of work performed to support studio marketing and social media initiatives
Operational Efficiency
- Manage appointments efficiently while maintaining exceptional service quality
- Support overall studio cleanliness, organization, and presentation
- Collaborate with fellow Crew members to create a positive and supportive studio culture
Required Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of professional body piercing experience
- Strong understanding of sterilization, hygiene, and safety standards
- Experience in a professional customer-facing environment
- Experience with jewellery sales and aftercare recommendations
- Ability to maintain workflow in a busy, high-volume studio environment
Required Education
- Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
- Commission on all service sales performed by the piercer
- Commission opportunities on select retail products
