Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join their team. This role will support the full-cycle accounting function, including month-end close, financial reporting, and analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience in NetSuite, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This is a full time permanent position that offers a hybrid working environment in Mississauga.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes
Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts to sub-ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Maintain and manage fixed asset schedules, including depreciation calculations
Prepare and file GST/HST/PST returns in a timely and accurate manner
Handle amortization of prepaid expenses
Support the implementation and adherence to internal control procedures
Assist with the preparation of year-end audit working papers and liaise with external auditors
Contribute to budgeting, including variance analysis
Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting packages for management
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and accounting support as needed
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Hands-on experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred or ERP experience
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting processes
Experience with Canadian indirect tax filings (GST/HST/PST)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
