In this vital role, you will be responsible for the daily management of dairy cattle, ensuring their well-being through attentive care, proper feeding, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Your hands-on approach and knowledge of farm machinery will contribute to the smooth operation of our dairy farm, supporting sustainable practices and high-quality milk production.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily milking routine, ensuring cows are comfortable and milked efficiently
- Monitor herd health by observing cattle behavior and identifying signs of illness or distress
- Maintain clean and hygienic living conditions for the animals, including bedding management
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, feed mixers, and other equipment safely and effectively
- Perform routine repairs and mechanical tasks to keep equipment in optimal working order
- Assist with feeding schedules, including handling heavy feed bags and ensuring proper nutrition
- Support breeding programs by assisting with calving and related activities when needed
Experience
- Previous experience working with livestock or on a dairy farm is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for maintaining farm machinery and troubleshooting minor issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with farm machinery operation, including tractors, feed systems, and cleaning equipment
- Strong work ethic with a proactive attitude towards animal welfare and farm maintenance

Pay: $19.44 per hour
