Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a Parts Technician in our Fort McMurray area of operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies and procedures
- Look up requested parts, determine availability and provide parts to mechanics
- Daily ordering of shop supplies and inventory replenishment as well as special orders
- Maintain a satisfactory level of current product knowledge
- Unload/load and verify shipments, including supplies and stock orders in their proper inventory locations
- Act as liaison between shop and the supplier in sourcing and purchasing required parts
- Responsible for coordinating returns and credits
- Maintain part warehouse inventory and ensure accuracy in inventory tracking application
- Ensure all parts, commodities and shop supplies are kept at required levels
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Parts Department operations
- Previous experience working with CAT, John Deere, Hitachi and Komatsu required
- Previous experience with Heavy Truck and Trailer is considered an asset
- Familiar with electronic online ordering and parts lookup
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, and multi‐tasking abilities
- Well organized and familiar with inventory management
- Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working directly in the Ft McMurray area and live in remote camps, or in town, working a rotational schedule
- Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) Certification
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
- Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
