Millwork Shop ManagerPosition Overview
The Millwork Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shop operations, translating drafted plans into production-ready packages, and ensuring efficient coordination between design, production, and installation. This role requires strong technical expertise, especially with Mozaik CNC software, along with solid organizational and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Technical Coordination
- Review and interpret drawings provided by the drafting team
- Adjust and modify plans to reflect accurate on-site measurements
- Prepare detailed cut lists, material lists, and production packages
- Generate and manage CNC programs using Mozaik CNC software
- Ensure all plans are optimized for efficient and accurate production
Procurement & Materials Management
- Prepare and submit orders for materials, hardware, and components
- Coordinate door orders and ensure specifications are accurate
- Organize and schedule deliveries for materials, paint, stain, and related supplies
- Maintain awareness of inventory levels and upcoming project needs
Scheduling & Operations
- Create and manage work schedules for carpenters and shop staff
- Coordinate workflow to ensure deadlines are met across multiple projects
- Balance shop production with installation timelines
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets company standards and project specifications
- Verify accuracy before production to minimize errors and rework
- Maintain consistency in finishes, materials, and final product quality
Team Leadership
- Oversee shop personnel and provide direction on daily tasks
- Support carpenters with technical guidance and problem-solving
- Maintain a productive, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Mozaik CNC software (required)
- Solid understanding of millwork, cabinetry, and production processes
- Ability to read and modify technical drawings
- Experience preparing cut lists, material orders, and shop packages
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Leadership experience in a shop or production environment preferred
Working Conditions
- Primarily shop-based with coordination related to on-site measurements
- Fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
