We provide self-serve laundry, wash & fold services, dry cleaning, commercial laundry, and pickup and delivery services. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Alteration Specialist / Seamstress to join our team at our Summit Drive location. This position will begin on a part-time basis with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role as our alteration services expand.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Clothing Alteration and Repair Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for customizing, repairing, and tailoring garments to meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent customer service skills, and experience working with various fabrics and clothing types. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment dedicated to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. During slower periods, the successful candidate will assist with various duties throughout the laundry facility to help ensure smooth daily operations.
Duties
- Measure clients’ garments and discuss alteration or repair needs to ensure accurate customization
- Perform clothing alterations and repairs, including hems, zippers, patches, buttons, seam repairs, and garment adjustments with precision
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service by advising clients on alteration options and timelines
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
- Ensure all alterations meet high-quality standards before returning garments to customers
Customer Service Duties
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Accept alteration, dry cleaning, and wash & fold orders
- Assist customers with questions regarding services and pricing
- Process customer transactions using our point-of-sale system
- Assist laundromat customers with change, machine operation, and general inquiries
Additional Facility Duties
- Assist with wash & fold services as required
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning tasks
- Support team members with daily operational needs
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous sewing, tailoring, alteration, or seamstress experience preferred
- Ability to operate sewing machines and alteration equipment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Retail, customer service, or laundry experience is considered an asset
- Basic math skills for taking measurements and calculating fabric needs
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and understand their needs
- Ability to work with various fabrics and sewing techniques
