Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Red Seal Carpenter to join our construction team. This role requires a professional who brings a positive attitude to work everyday. Extensive expertise in residential, commercial, and industrial carpentry projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in blueprint reading, restoration, cabinet installation, and various other specialized carpentry skills. As a senior team member, you will lead projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety are maintained throughout all phases of construction. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings to accurately execute project plans
- Lead and perform complex carpentry tasks including framing, cabinetry, flooring installation, tile laying, siding, roofing, and rebar installation. (Not all required)
- Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and specialized equipment to complete tasks efficiently and safely. (Not all required)
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, drywall, siding, and other structural or finishing components.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks
- Coordinate with project managers and play a leadership role on the jobsite
- Supervise junior carpenters and handyman staff; provide mentorship on best practices in construction techniques.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure compliance with safety standards on-site at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Red Seal certification as a Carpenter is required.
- Extensive construction experience with a strong background in woodworking, framing, concrete forming, roofing, siding, electrical work, plumbing, and HVAC systems is essential.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery, and other relevant equipment.
- Knowledge of restoration techniques and experience with masonry or tile laying is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to read technical drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills; capable of leading teams effectively while maintaining safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for site travel; reliable transportation required.
