Overview
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Part-Time Administrator/Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization by maintaining accurate financial records across multiple corporate entities, development projects, and construction projects. This role is a part of our 7 person accounting and finance team and provides full-cycle accounting support, prepares client billing packages, and supports project accounting and financial reporting.
The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. They demonstrate sound judgment and maintain a high degree of accuracy. All functions and responsibilities are performed in accordance with Aryze’s values and beliefs.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries.
- Coordinate annual ICBC vehicle renewals.
- Manage business license, corporate filing, and warranty renewals.
- Prepare bank deposits and complete banking transactions as required.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for accounting records.
- Provide administrative support to the Assistant Controller and Finance team on special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Bookkeeping
Review and approve invoices and costs for assigned jobs.
Reconcile bank accounts, company credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
Review project budgets, job costing, and financial coding to ensure accuracy.
Maintain billing templates and financial data within the accounting system.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and supporting working papers.
Maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies and development projects.
Assist Accounts Payable and Receivable functions including:
Full-Cycle Accounting for assigned entities includes maintaining accurate and complete financial records, preparing month-end reconciliations and ensuring general ledger is accurate and complete, and reconciling accounts and preparing year-end financial statements, working papers, and supporting documents for external accountants.
Ensure accounting records comply with company policies and internal controls.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
Provide support to the Assistant Controller on financial analysis, reporting, and special projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Experience: This role can be scoped up or down; we're hiring for fit, not a specific number of years. Two profiles work well here:
Admin-weighted (1–2 years): you'll carry the administrative duties and support AP/AR, coding, and reconciliations.
Accounting-weighted (2+ years, or equivalent hands-on bookkeeping experience): you'll own full-cycle accounting for assigned entities and year-end file preparation, with a lighter administrative load.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
Professional Development
Aryze supports career development and growth and will cover the cost of job-specific training, up to $1000 per year for approved programs. Additional funding will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
Compensation
Part-Time Administrator/Accountant: $24-$33 per hour, depending on experience and the scope of the role.
Approximately 20-25 hours per week, with flexibility on scheduling. The upper end of the range reflects candidates who can run full-cycle accounting independently or who bring Jonas Premier experience.
Employment offers will be determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity. Will consider a senior role, based on experience.
