Reporting to the Program Lead within Clinical Services Integration & Patient Flow Supports, the Senior Consultant is a provincial role accountable for leading system optimization & improvement, change management, integration & implementation of complex initiatives including scaling & spreading of provincial initiatives with system partners. Working independently with minimal guidance, the Senior Consultant may supervise staff within the portfolio, lead functional teams & collaborate with a variety of partners, including but not limited to: patient & family advisors, healthcare providers, Health Agencies, & Health Service Delivery Organizations. This position will work as part of a passionate & diverse team of system transformers that work towards strengthening integrated primary health care within Alberta’s provincial health system. Through partnership & codesign, this role will lead the design & enable adaptation of new and/or improved ways of delivering health care (including using virtual modalities) that serve the needs of people in the community. Complex system initiatives will be supported by establishing & leveraging shared working & governance structures with one & provincial partners across organizations. The Senior Consultant will support alignment & coordination of Primary Care Alberta (PCA) Clinical Services Integration, & Virtual Health priorities by bringing expertise in facilitation & meeting design, human centered design practices, strategic planning, governance building, patient engagement, change management & person-centred practices while collaborating with others with similar & diverse expertise across the system. This position will use data to inform & support planning & implementation of integration priorities & is committed to meaningful engagement with patients & families as true partners in co-design to help transform the health care system.

Required Qualifications:
Baccalaureate level degree. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility in area of expertise in a related environment, preferably within health care Demonstrated leadership experience in a health care or related environment Experience in planning and implementation in a healthcare organization Demonstrated pattern of professional and personal development Team leadership skills, including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and with a broad spectrum of stakeholder (both within and outside of the organization). Demonstrated ability to foster relationships and partnerships with internal and external partners, including patients/clients, families and caregivers. Demonstrated commitment to and application of patient engagement and Person-Centred Care principles and practices in a health care setting.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Education and demonstrated abilities in change management, quality improvement practices and methodologies, and person-centred practice Knowledge and demonstrated experience in facilitation or coordination of project management: execution, reporting, monitoring and evaluation Knowledge and evidence in change management principles with proven ability to foster a culture of change acceptance, adoption and advocacy. Ability to understand complex health issues through research, analysis and evaluation of best evidence. Requires exceptional verbal, written and listening skills to comprehend, create and communicate concepts and options to a broad variety of people at different levels of the organization who have different skills and expertise. Ability to develop and facilitate presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge Demonstrated ability to work independently within a large, complex organization with a variety of staffing groups Demonstrated needs identification, gap analysis, critical thinking skills, decision-making and innovative problem solving Demonstrated abilities in conflict resolution and management. Comfort and competence using and supporting the implementation of virtual care modalities. Excellent computer skills including expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters level degree. Formal training and certification in change management, project management and/or improvement methodologies Knowledge and experience with software to support project management, data management and data analysis preferred. Certification in quality improvement approaches such as AHS AIW Green belt, Lean Six Sigma, IHI preferred.
