We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight and shipments, ensuring timely delivery and efficient operations across our supply chain network. Duties
- Manage and coordinate freight shipments using transportation management systems to optimize routes and delivery schedules
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, warehouse staff, and clients via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette
- Monitor shipment statuses, troubleshoot delays or issues, and provide timely updates to stakeholders
- Analyze freight data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within the supply chain
- Oversee shipping & receiving processes to ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies
- Maintain detailed logs of dispatch activities, shipment details, and incident reports for record-keeping and analysis
Skills
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) for scheduling and tracking freight movements
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations, including 3PL (third-party logistics) providers
- Experience with Transplus Fleet Manager or similar TMS
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret shipment data and optimize dispatch processes
- Exceptional communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for clear coordination
- Fast and accurate typing skills coupled with experience using multi-line phone systems
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with freight handling best practices
