Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Asphalt Paving Machine Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy paving equipment to lay asphalt efficiently and accurately, ensuring high-quality road surfaces and paving projects. Duties
- Operate asphalt paving machines with precision, ensuring consistent thickness and smooth surface finish
- Set up and calibrate paving equipment according to project specifications and site conditions
- Collaborate with crew members to coordinate paving activities and maintain workflow momentum
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly
- Assist with loading, unloading, and positioning materials using loaders, excavators, or other heavy equipment
- Support concrete forming and finishing tasks as needed to complement paving operations
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including wearing protective gear and adhering to site safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt pavers, loaders, excavators, and concrete finishing tools
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on paving machinery
- Construction background with familiarity in paving, concrete forming, and general site operations
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for transporting equipment or materials between sites
- Ability to read technical drawings, project plans, and safety instructions clearly
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
