As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.
Position Summary
The Remote Controller will be responsible for managing the company's accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing accurate financial information and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with financial forecasting and budgeting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local financial regulations.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions as required.
- Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve profitability and efficiency.
- Assist with grant reporting, funding requirements, and government remittances.
- Support management with financial planning and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting or financial management experience.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles and payroll regulations.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
