The Lead Meter Prover Technician at Sky Eye Measurement (SEM) ensures the accurate, safe, and efficient operation of our ball prover systems on client sites. As the primary on-site, customer-facing leader, this role combines technical expertise with strong leadership to guide field operations, mentor team members, and deliver reliable, high-quality services that consistently exceed client expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning & Scheduling
- Plan and manage field schedules, coordinating with clients via email and phone to book proving time/days
- Utilize Excel and other digital tools to organize schedules, track work, and manage resources
Preparation & Equipment Management
- Maintain and account for Sky Eye Measurement property, including tools, trucks, calibration equipment, proving trailers, and parts
- Ensure trucks and proving trailers are properly maintained and operational for field work
Field Operations & Technical Work
- Prove and calibrate meters using Quorum’s ProveIT software, ensuring accurate and reliable measurements
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair liquid metering and sampling equipment
- Procure and manage liquid samples for measurement, maintaining chain-of-custody and safety protocols
- Transport hazardous and non-hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations
- Demonstrate solid knowledge of oilfield roads in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, and accurately locate LSDs to support field operations
- Demonstrate mastery of portable prover operations and associated equipment
- Safely lift and handle up to 50 lbs.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain accurate driver logbooks
- Prepare and submit documentation of service activities accurately and on time
- Submit accurate and timely invoicing for completed work
Work Schedule & Flexibility
- Maintain a flexible work schedule, including up to 16-hour days and frequent out-of-town travel as required by job and client needs, typically Monday through Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 an asset) with a clean 5-year driver’s abstract
- Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician certification (Red Seal preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of meter proving experience in a lead or supervisory role
- Ability to successfully pass pre-access testing, including drug and alcohol screening
