Akfit is seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Installation Technician to assist with the delivery, assembly, and installation of fitness equipment for residential and commercial clients.
Working under the direction of the Installation & Warehouse Manager, this role supports warehouse operations and performs equipment installations across Northern Ontario. The successful candidate will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to AKFIT’s high standards.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and working both in the warehouse and on-site at client locations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Installation
- Deliver and install residential and commercial fitness equipment
- Assemble treadmills, strength equipment, racks, cable machines, and other gym equipment
- Follow manufacturer installation procedures and company standards
- Assist with larger commercial installations including gyms, schools, and institutional facilities
- Test equipment after installation to ensure proper operation
Delivery & Transportation
- Load and secure equipment for transport
- Assist with deliveries to homes, businesses, and fitness facilities
- Ensure safe handling of equipment during transport and installation
- Maintain company vehicles and delivery equipment
Warehouse Support
- Assist with receiving and unloading shipments
- Inspect equipment upon arrival for damage or missing parts
- Prepare equipment for upcoming installations
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness
- Assist with inventory management and order staging
Customer Interaction
- Provide professional and courteous service at client locations
- Answer basic customer questions about equipment use and care
- Represent Akfit in a positive and professional manner during installations
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and experience assembling equipment or machinery
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy equipment 100+ lbs
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, and background check
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in homes, commercial facilities, and warehouse environments
Preferred Experience
- Equipment installation
- Furniture or appliance delivery/assembly
- Construction or mechanical work
- Warehouse or logistics experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment
- Ability to work on-site installations and warehouse tasks
- Comfortable with frequent lifting, bending, and manual work

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
