Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our restaurant team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment while assisting with food preparation to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, a strong understanding of food safety standards, and experience in restaurant or kitchen settings. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food industry.
Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals
- Support the kitchen team during meal service by ensuring timely preparation and presentation of dishes
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, prep areas, and storage spaces throughout shifts
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Help with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies needed or low stock items
- Assist with general kitchen duties as assigned by the chef or kitchen manager to support efficient restaurant operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and good communication abilities
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings if required
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food safety standards
Pay: $15.00 per hour
