If you're a motivated and organized Corporate Legal Assistant or law clerk with IP experience we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities

Respond to routine client inquiries and liaise professionally with clients, lawyers, and foreign law firms.

Assist with client file management, including opening and closing files, and reporting to clients.

Manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate travel, and track deadlines.

Draft, format, proofread, and revise legal documents and correspondence.

Make submissions to IP offices and conduct online searches of IP databases

Maintain digital and physical filing systems in accordance with firm policies.

Manage tickler/bring-forward systems to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Assist with billing processes, including WIP review, generating prebills, issuing and following up on outstanding invoices.

Track and process expense claims as required.

Corporate and Intellectual property (IP) experience is preferred.
Requirements
-
3+ years of legal assistant experience, with exposure to intellectual property (trademarks and/or patents).

Legal Assistant Certificate, Law Clerk Diploma, or equivalent legal education.

Proficiency with legal software and document management systems.

Experience with NetDocuments, Actionstep (formerly Soluno), or similar platforms is an asset.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume practice
