Our client is looking for a skilled Journeyperson Machinist to join their manufacturing and fabrication team on Vancouver Island. Based in the Duncan area, this company specializes in custom metal fabrication and precision machining services for a wide range of industrial sectors, including forestry, marine, construction, mining, agriculture, and heavy industry.

Responsibilities
- Machine custom parts based on technical drawings, blueprints, or sample components
- Operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, boring mills, and bed mills
- Perform drilling operations using radial arm drills
- Cut and prepare raw materials for machining and fabrication
- Inspect completed parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as needed

Qualifications
- Journeyperson Machinist certification
- Apprentices may be considered based on experience
- Experience operating manual machining equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Familiarity with boring mills, lathes, bed mills, and drilling equipment
- Experience with custom fabrication or industrial machining environments
- CNC machining experience an asset
