You'll Be Responsible For:
Lead and manage procurement teams, including oversight of category leads, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Develop and implement category and procurement strategies, managing them end-to-end to deliver agreed goals and targets.
Engage and influence senior stakeholders, including executive leadership and key client representatives, both internally and externally.
Lead key workstreams and strategic initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to expected standards through effective team coordination.
Drive category management activities, providing leadership and strategic direction across procurement functions.
Establish and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, acting as a subject matter expert in relationship management.
Ensure appropriate structures, governance, tools, and capabilities are in place to support team performance and deliver operational excellence.
Conduct due diligence and maintain strong understanding of supplier markets, industry trends, and commercial landscapes.
Identify and deliver value creation opportunities across processes, performance improvements, and commercial activities.
Oversee procurement plan development and implementation, including embedding processes, monitoring progress, and ensuring delivery through teams.
Deliver objectives effectively in complex and challenging environments, ensuring resilience and consistent performance.
Provide performance management, coaching, and talent development to build high-performing teams.
Build and maintain strong internal and external networks to support business objectives and collaboration.
Manage and influence key stakeholders to support decision-making and drive successful procurement outcomes.
Collaborate across teams to support sustainability goals, including contributing to net zero carbon initiatives and managing associated emissions within procurement activities.
You’ll Need To Have:
Proven experience in senior procurement roles, with responsibility for leading teams and managing category strategies.
Strong leadership and people management skills, including experience managing category leads or high-performing teams.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement end-to-end procurement and category strategies.
Extensive experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders, including executive and client-level contacts.
Strong expertise in category management, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing.
Solid understanding of procurement governance, operating models, and best practice frameworks.
Experience conducting due diligence and analyzing supplier markets, industry trends, and commercial opportunities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to manage complex workstreams and deliver outcomes in challenging and fast-paced environments.
Experience in performance management, coaching, and talent development.
Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification or experience).
Note: The estimated salary for this position is 130,000 - 180,000 CAD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
