Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant preferably a registered Pharmacy tech to join our healthcare team for a temporary contract. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in pharmacy entering prescriptions and a sound understanding of billing. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a clinical setting, contributing to patient care and medication management. Prior hospital or pharmacy technician experience is preferred, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in entering ,preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage patient records, update medication profiles, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance on over-the-counter products when appropriate
- Maintain inventory levels, restock shelves, and ensure proper storage of medications according to safety standards
- Process insurance claims and handle billing procedures as needed
- Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and documentation
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to medication handling and patient privacy
- NOTE: This is a 4 month fixed contract to cover maternity leave. Fulltime is required from September 1st. Training and Part time hours available from July 2026.
Skills
- Previous hospital or pharmacy technician experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration processes
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Compassionate patient care skills with a focus on accuracy and safety
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High level proficiency for managing electronic health records and pharmacy software systems is a must.

Pay: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
