As our company continues to grow, we are looking for a strong financial professional to take ownership of our accounting function and help support the next stage of our growth.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Financial Controller (CPA) to manage and oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations. This is a key role within the organization, working directly with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financial planning.
This position is ideal for a hands-on CPA who enjoys working in a dynamic operational environment and wants to play an active role in supporting a growing marine company.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in our North Vancouver office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the company’s day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with applicable regulations and accounting standards
- Perform account analysis and resolve discrepancies where required
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Prepare and monitor cash flow projections
- Complete and file statutory reporting including GST returns, T4s, and ROEs
- Support internal financial controls and process improvements
- Work closely with the Vice President of Finance and leadership team to provide financial insight and support strategic decision-making
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks (or similar accounting systems)
- Experience in project-based, marine, construction, engineering, or industrial environments is an asset
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, fast-moving team
- Must be based in BC and able to work on-site in North Vancouver
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $100,000 – $130,000 per year, depending on experience
