Packaging Line Operator
Prairie Flour Mills Ltd. is a Manitoba-based flour milling company supplying premium wheat flour products to bakeries, food manufacturers, food service distributors, and retail customers throughout North America.
We are currently seeking a motivated, mechanically inclined, and dependable Packaging LineOperator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to grow their career with a well-established Canadian food processing company.
As the Packaging Line Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring our automated packaging lines operate safely, efficiently, and meet the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate automated flour packaging equipment, palletizers, and associated production systems.
- Set up and change over packaging lines according to production schedules.
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain efficient operation.
- Perform start-up, shutdown, inspections, and routine operational checks.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and coordinate with the maintenance team when required.
- Verify proper operation of metal detectors, checkweighers, printers, and packaging equipment.
- Lead and support packaging crew members to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Ensure products are packaged accurately according to customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Complete production, inventory, and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), sanitation procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in preventative maintenance and equipment cleaning.
- Train and mentor team members as required.
- Follow all food safety, workplace safety, and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience operating automated manufacturing or packaging equipment is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Comfortable using hand tools and working around industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Schedule:
- 10-hour shifts
- Overtime as required
