Reporting to the Manager, Payroll, the Payroll Project Analyst will support a large-scale Canadian payroll and time management implementation. This role is focused on data validation, compliance, and ensuring payroll accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
What you will do
- Analyze and validate high volumes of payroll and time data, including 38,000+ matrix data points
- Audit earnings, deductions, and payroll configurations to ensure accuracy and alignment with design requirements
- Research and validate Canadian payroll legislation and statutory compliance obligations
- Review and reconcile union agreement provisions against current payroll practices and solution design
- Support work schedule cleanup and broader data quality initiatives
- Interpret findings and provide clear recommendations to project stakeholders
- Partner with the Time and Pay Project team to resolve issues and provide guidance
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT, and other cross-functional teams
- Participate in system testing, validation cycles, and implementation activities
- Maintain and update payroll and timekeeping process documentation
What you bring
- PCP designation required, with NPI or advanced payroll certification considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience supporting payroll or HRIS implementations
- Hands-on experience with Workday Payroll or Time Tracking
- Advanced Excel skills, including large dataset analysis, reconciliation, and validation
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and internal controls
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
- High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
