Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Renovation Technician / Carpenter to join our restoration team.
This position focuses on reconstruction following demolition and property-damage mitigation. You will help restore residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire and other types of damage. The work includes drywall, painting, trim, flooring and other interior finishing tasks.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, reading project scopes, identifying practical solutions and completing quality work in occupied and unoccupied properties.
Responsibilities
- Complete repairs and reconstruction following demolition and mitigation work
- Read, understand and follow project scopes, work orders and specifications
- Perform drywall installation, taping, mudding, sanding and repairs
- Complete interior painting and surface preparation
- Install baseboards, casing, doors, trim and other finishing materials
- Perform general carpentry, framing and finishing work
- Assist with flooring, cabinetry and other renovation tasks as required
- Safely operate hand and power tools
- Measure materials and work areas accurately
- Identify job-site challenges and communicate practical solutions
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and other team members
- Provide courteous and professional service in clients’ homes and businesses
- Protect clients’ property and maintain clean, organized work areas
- Document job progress, materials and site conditions
- Follow company procedures and all applicable health and safety requirements
- Travel to job sites in Saskatoon and surrounding areas
Requirements
- Previous experience in residential or commercial renovations, restoration or construction
- Demonstrated experience with interior finishes, including drywall, painting and trim
- Ability to read and work from a project scope
- Strong measuring, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Competence using common hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s licence and a safe driving record
- Clear criminal background check
- Reliable transportation to report to work
- Ability to work independently with appropriate direction
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with project managers and team members
- Professional conduct and customer-service skills
- Dependable attendance and attention to detail
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of renovation work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders and working on your feet for extended periods

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
