The Operations Supervisor oversees the business of the division. This includes, but is not limited to, the customer service, safety, operational efficiencies and overall personnel management within the division.
Job Title: Operations Supervisor, Refrigerants
Job Purpose: Lead and oversee daily refrigerant operations, including refrigerant processing equipment, quality control, safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise refrigerant operators and yard organization as instructed by the Senior Operations Coordinator.
- Ensure daily scheduled duties are completed and provide progress reports to the Senior Operations Coordinator.
- Hold daily team meetings at start of each shift.
- Oversee quality control for incoming and outgoing refrigerant cylinder orders.
- Ensure adherence to safety, and environmental regulations.
- Train and mentor staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Manage work assignments, monitor inventory levels, and verify the accuracy of inbound/outbound materials.
- Investigate incidents, enforce company policies, and maintain an organized work environment.
- Assist in emergency response coordination, including spill containment and cleanup.
- Operate and maintain refrigerant equipment as required.
- Identify and report hazards (Haz IDs) in SEMS and encourage team safety reporting.
- Conduct weekly "Toolbox Talks" to reinforce safety awareness.
- Submit incident and non-conformance reports promptly via SEMS.
- Conduct JTOs (Job Task Observations) to validate operator training, understanding of procedures and safety protocols.
- Complete payroll, validate hours and approve overtime.
- Apply progressive disciplinary action, if required
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to troubleshoot processing equipment and systems.
- Strong knowledge of the JACK database.
- Knowledge of Gas Chromatography (GC) is considered an asset.
- Proven leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of safety compliance and inventory/logistics management.
Experience & Physical Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to operate all refrigerant equipment and processes.
- Capability to work outdoors and perform hands-on tasks in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Preferred Certifications:
- Safety training (LOTO, confined space entry, and hazardous materials handling).
