This position combines a clinical and case management role and is responsible for facilitating timely, family-centered and consistent responses to referrals and service requests received for Summit Walk In Services and ACH Psychiatric Emergency Services. The role involves completing preliminary assessment of need and urgency. In addition, it provides parents and/or professionals seeking referral with information about the service mandate, model of care and information regarding other support services as is appropriate internal or external to Recovery Alberta. The Social Worker II works collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the child, adolescent and/ or the parent/family being referred receives the most appropriate service available in response to the referral request. The role involves short term case management during the duration of service provision by Summit Walk In and/or ACH Psychiatric Emergency Services.
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
3-5 years experience working as a Social Worker. Training and experience working within a child/adolescent mental health setting required. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Strong client focus with the ability to promote collaborative teamwork and partnerships. Ability to work independently and in a changing, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and with other stakeholders internal and external to Recovery AB.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collaborative Problem Solving Training; Brain Story Certification. Demonstrated clinical ability to assess for risk, therapeutic need, provided counseling and support treatment plans. Knowledge of network of resources in Calgary and area. Manages stressful situations with empathy, calmness and respect for others; utilizes appropriate conflict management techniques.
